DMCA take down requests for perfectly legal content? Who is doing it?

A recent report from TorrentFreak.com has made the headlines. The news was about a company named “Yes It Is – No Piracy!” that was issuing DMCA requests to take-down content that is completely legal. The news reports that the company has been issuing other web platforms to take-down inappropriate/illegal content, on behalf of some big names like 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures, Summit Entertainment, Lionsgate and Walt Disney Pictures to name some of them. However another good news here is that Google did not take any actions on the URLs listed in these requests, showing that Google is always a step ahead. Rather the website Yesitis.com that was being used as the company to issue these request has been affected after the story was exposed by TorrentFreak.com. Although, the motive behind this is yet to be understood, but probably the companies wanted to get their own legitimate pages in rankings.
