Unlikely to Payday Loan 1.0 update on June 11, 2013, which had a moderate impact on websites, the Payday Loan 2.0 update on May 19 along with Panda 4.0 update made a huge effect on websites, which made them, lost their ranking in search engine result pages.
A sheer example of it is eBay, which has suffered a massive loss in organic traffic and rankings because of Payday Loan 2.0 and Google Panda 4.0 update.
On May 19, 2014, few of e-Bay keywords were lost and their subdomains went out from the top ten search engine results, which caused hacking of their database. Subsequently, they had to ask all their users to change their passwords.
Before any updates were implemented, eBay had already stumbled to position six in search results on March 1, which later went down to 25th position.
Looking into the changes, which were brought when panda update was made from May 19 to 20, e-Bay lost its majority of keywords position. Moreover, both their domains “www.ebay.com” and “popular.ebay.com” too lost their position.
On May 19, these domains were there on search pages, but on May 20, “popular.ebay.com” could keep its position on SERP, while its other two pages were gone.
Besides eBay, Amazon too lost their highest position, which came down from position three to position seven.
