Until now various software companies like AVG and media company IAC, were having big business from the search toolbars. They were able to make more than $40 million; approximately, in the year of 2011.
However, now this money making seems to be in danger as Google is stepping up enforcement of its policies against these toolbar downloads.
Reason behind this enforcement is due to the problems consumers had to face when installing these toolbars. Although, the toolbar was meant for security or entertainment purpose but instead of that these toolbars were providing organic search and ads powered on the backend by Google or yahoo.
However, with the reworking over AdWords policy governing software principles, users are assured that now-onwards they would get useful information, whenever they download this software on their computer.
